Fellowes Paper Shredder

Fellowes produces an almost dizzying range of paper shredders. I've used both their basic home models in my home and office and their commercial models at many of my clients sites.

I've found them to be reliable except for their entry level models which are designed for very light duty as all inexpensive models are.

Fellowes Paper Shredders include:

Deskside Powershred® Shredders - these are small shredders designed for single users and are good for both home and office use. They range in price from under a hundred dollars to approximately $400, and include strip cut, crosscut, and micro cut models. Even these entry level Fellowes shredders all come with an attached trash can, and some of them have various types of anti jam technologies but not all of them.

Fellowes entry level Deskside shredders have mixed reviews. No doubt some poor reviews are due to people overloading these relatively light use models, but check online reviews for specific models before proceeding. Most reviews are very positive and few people have trouble, but some models have better reviews than others.

Fellowes, as of this writing, makes 11 different Deskside shredder models.

Professional Powershred® Shredders are designed for one to five users and are much more robust than the Deskside shredders and more expensive as well. There are  currently six models and they range from under 400 dollars to approximately 900 dollars, and can run longer with less cooling down time than their deskside shredders.

Commercial Powershred® shredders are designed to handle large volumes of documents. There are 10 different  models as of this writing, their prices start at slightly over $1000 to $4000, they can run continuously which the professional and deskside models can not, they can take more sheets of paper at once, shred faster, and handle staples and small paper clips with ease.

Fellowes also makes a range of US Government approved shredders we won't go into specifically here other than to say they range from $500 to $6500 and include stripcut, crosscut and high security models. See their Web site for more details.

Fellowes paper shredders seem to be available almost everywhere. For example in the US they are available at Radioshack, Walmart, Target, Office Discount Shops, and many more places as well including Amazon, which has an excellent selection and pricing.

Fellowes also sells Refurbished Shredders which do come with a warranty. This might be a good choice if you're price sensitive.
